In 1975, Jim Flowe decided the time was right to start a grading business to help meet the needs of a growing market in the greater Charlotte region. After laying a solid foundation based upon traditional values of hard work, honesty and the ability to establish long-term business relationships, he began to surround himself with employees that understood and shared his vision. Through these humble beginnings, long-term associations that read like a Who’s Who of the Charlotte business community began to sprout and grow into successful ventures that were profitable and produced jobs in which all involved could take great pride.
Through the years, Jim was not satisfied merely being successful in grading alone; he quickly realized that there was a strong need for comprehensive site work contractors who could assist their customers with needs such as demolition, storm water systems, underground utilities, concrete curbing, stone placement and asphalt paving. This natural turnkey progression quickly allowed J.O. Flowe Grading Company to develop a solid reputation as being well qualified and equipped to handle residential site work, subdivision and commercial infrastructure and to evolve as one of the area’s leaders in multi-family civil site work construction. Although always open to new clients and customers, the backbone of the company’s success has been the repeat business of many well-satisfied clients who return repeatedly because they know J.O. Flowe Grading Company always delivers what they need, when they need it.
